Peacock! I touch it? Okay. Look, kids!
Hi gibbons! Hi mama Gibbon. Hi daddy Gibbon. I see you in a basket!
This is red wolves. One two seven eight nine eleven. It’s all the babies in there. They are too sleepy. I am too sleepy.
It’s a big polar bear. Pick me up mama. I ride in my stroller. It’s cold down there.
Hi otters. Hi seals. I’m too sleepy. Let me out. Go in my bed. Oh it’s seals. One two five seven. Up and down. Up and down. Over there… hi seals…
Go on a bus. This bus has 2. Number 2 bus, let’s ride it to the zoo! See all the animals! I have money, it’s from Grandpa Bill. Let’s get a zoo pass. We go every day! Get off a bus, walk walk walk. Mom, I need coffee. Hot coffee.
Sit on the little potty at the zoo. It’s my favorite. I need to play play play. Drink my water, please? I want a snack.
I go down the slide so fast. Climb up here with me. Look, it’s big fish! It’s piranhas! What’s over there? I like wallabies in there. Move over, boy. I fall down. I’m okay. I eat french fries. More drink please.
Anna came to my house and we went to the zoo. See alalala animals zoo zoo zoo. Elephants! Now back tigers. No no no.
First we visit the meerkats. They are inside their house because it is cold with a little rain. Rain rain go away. We stand at the glass and watch, then I check out the outside part but it is empty. We check the fish out. Lemurs are not out today.
I visit the kid potty, one of the best parts of the zoo, then we climb all over the rocks and the alligator. I try climbing to the top of the slide but it is too wet to ride down so I just go back down with Anna. There is no big rain but the ground is extra slippery so Anna and I both fall down a lot. Sometimes we cry. There are lots of peacocks.
We go to have lunch. We can sit in the cafe and eat our lunch from home. I brought noodles, ham, sweet potatoes, and a little salad. I eat every single noodle on my plate. The mamas get coffee. They don’t share.
We have my little red wagon but Anna doesn’t want to sit in it. I only want to sit in it a little. We go over to the elephants and watch. It is a boy one and a girl one. No pee this time. Next we see otters. Down at the tiger pen Jaya is on her big rock jumping for meat while the zoo keeper tells us about her. When she goes to the doctor she has to stay asleep with medicine. She lays down next to the fence and the zoo keeper gives her a shot right through the fence. She gets sleepy then. Zoo keepers don’t like to give tigers shots with no fences. My new friends at community group just taught me about shots last night. It is when you have plastic toy with a clicker like a pen and you wiggle it on your hand and pretend to cry. I thought it was hilarious but apparently tigers don’t understand the humor.
We have baby tigers at the zoo too! One two five tigers. We also have this amazing square with a railing around it and if you hold on the rail and walk around and around it’s so funny.
I say hi to the Gibbons and the anoa. They are sharing an enclosure today. Anna likes my Gibbons too. The girl one and the boy one are snuggling in their basket. I don’t know if they are a mama and da or if they are a brother and sister.
In the aquarium I can see the octopus just a little in her dark cave. It is not as exciting as last time when she was dancing and kissing the tank. But it was nice to say hello. We go upstairs but both Anna and I are getting too sleepy to listen to Mamas. We run outside on the grass for a minute and then we walk up up up all the steps to Anna’s car.
I am trying to read a book with my friend but we.
.. just… can’t…stay…..
My Mama has a bunch of phones and they are all a little broken. Today we are going to Seattle to get something that will fix it, and I am excited to see Anty Rachel and That Jon also. Maybe more friends too.
So here is what you missed. I say two words at a time now and I got my ears pierced. I cried ten seconds only. Other than the pinch that was mostly a fun day. I snuggled Mimee and Poppy a lot. I went to the zoo with Grandma and we saw crazy gibbons and a million fish. I counted them but there were more than three. I also learned a few colors. All the things I like are green. I love milk and otters and Da and my friend Anna. My turtle backpack is filled with interesting things. I’m on a boat.
Okay. If you want to hang out with me in Seattle today I will be in the U District at 1. Give me a buzz.
It was a little cloudy when we got to the zoo but it got warm and pretty. We sat by the playground and ate quiche and muffins and fruit, and we all climbed on the alligator and the rocks afterward. I like the bathroom by the piranas because it has a little potty and a big potty, so I can sit on it without my potty seat.
The walruses were playing with us. At first it was kind of funny but then I realized they are really big. They rubbed their whole backs right on the glass I was looking at and I could see their eyes and their feet. I showed them my feet. I also liked the meerkats because they were frisky and all snuggling a tiny sleepy baby. Another good one was the gnu. He has toys on his head. There are some pretty sweet dogs that are swimming that are called seals. I showed everyone they are dogs but Cami said they were fish. They are kind of like fish and kind of like dogs. I didn’t get to see the other fish because I fell asleep on Mama’s head right before the aquarium.
I am the big turtle with my turtle backpack and I am taking my muffins to the zoo. Cami and Anna are coming in the wagon I borrowed from Iris. Also I think I’m getting a cousin today. I just heard some rumors, but I think he’s going to appear in Walla Walla.
Yesterday Iris said, “Walruses!” so we went to see ET and his friends at the zoo. We had a kind of short trip, but we saw some important stuff. The three walruses were getting crazy! They jumped at us and lugged up on the rocks right by us. Walruses make a loud wet growly noise and their eyeballs are red and pointy.
We saw the seals getting their fish and we looked at the otters from the top and from the bottom. Then we booked it over to see the clouded leopard cubs. Sometimes there is a big line to see them, but me and Mama and Mimee and Iris just stood there and looked by ourselves for a long time. The cubs are cute, but they are starting to get big, bigger than cats. But I can still call them kitties if I want. We saw the elephants right before we left.
Then we went to try some Poppy coffee and I made a new friend. He had an apron and he touched my face. Poppy carried me to see his friends. I tried a mocha and Iris gave me a bite of her ladybug cookie. It didn’t taste like bugs.
Hi. I didn’t write for a few days. Here’s what happened: I went to the zoo with just my Mama, and saw fish and sea creatures mostly, and I climbed the aquarium stairs a lot. Sunday, I went with Da and Mama to see Anty Elizabeth and baby William. Da took me to the botanical gardens at the university. The next day Grandma took me to Poulsbo. We went to the shoe store and the Loft and now I like salmon burgers.
Today Iris is here and we are doing school. We did Barnyard Dance (Barnyard Dance! (Boynton on Board)) for our meeting. I like holding hands and spinning but some parts are still confusing. However I could dance all day to Pearl Django. We painted on my canvas with my tempera paints, and we are going on a walk next. Iris has big plans for me…
I am playing at the playground in the Zoo. I love the sand pit and climbing on the benches and egg statues with other kids. I climbed on that hill behind me. It was really slippery and I got stuck. Then a kid as big as Iris crashed me, so I didn’t want to play there anymore. There are so many cool rocks and stumps to climb on though, which is perfect because I Love climbing on everything. I’m really happy so I’m singing a song too. Next I’m going to ride on the train.
I am watching the gibbons at the Santa Barbara Zoo. They are yelling and playing! They say “ooooOoo” and I tell them “OOoo Ooo.” I love them and want to be with them so I try to climb through the fence. But there is a moat too. I have a golden gibbon at home just like this one. I got him at the Portland Zoo because those gibbons were so nice and try to hold my hand. I will snuggle him later.
Nana is showing me the birds and Papa is pushing the stroller. I like the cockatoos and the pink flamingos.
Zoos are cool except they always have these irritating enclosures everywhere so I can’t go touch stuff.
