Play materials Ideas

A Day in the Life

image

We are going to make my play room extra special and I like these ideas. I have lots of different toys but some of them are too little for me and some are ready to get shared with other kids. We have lots of baskets but the shelves are all full of books so we’ll have to work it out. Any other great ideas? http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/LetTheChildrenPlay/~3/HKanflGX33o/be-reggio-inspired-play-materials.html

Anonona one New House

A Day in the Life

image

We got another new house. It is white and I have my own secret closet and the carpet gives me hives. I got a new phone and a new car kind of but mostly a bus. And a new church and some new friends.

At our red house I have this sweet playroom where Anna and I can drive strollers at the same time. At my new house I can only read books in the playroom. But my baby Helen can have her own room. And I can watch movies on cassette in the kitchen. Make tower movies. Fall down.

We did lots of funny things but my phone was broken so no Huckleberries. Sorry. But I miss you. Especially I call Mimee and Poppy on Mama’s phone and I call Grandpa Bill and Grandpa Joe on my purple phone.

Edie ‘Rene. One. Happy Birthday. April.

More Wooden Toys at Goodwill

A Day in the Life

My favorite toy store is Goodwill because that is where my Mama actually buys some. Remember my awesome ferry boats and cars? And my train? Well today we got a big bag of colorful wooden blocks. And some clothes of course. The blocks are best.

Before this I only had regular square blocks with numbers and stuff on them. These ones are more interesting to me right now because they are bright colors and all different shapes that do different things when I stack them together.

Now we’re going to eat pizza. Are you hungry?

Yard Time With Iris

A Day in the Life

Iris picked out my dress so now now we are twinsies. We had chicken dinner outside and Iris took me over to the grass afterward where we frolicked. It was our second time playing in the grass today. First time we were at the field and Mama and Mimee were running the track. I ran it too.

I say “Guh kooo” and it means thank you. Also it means I gave you something and now you’re supposed to say thank you. I remind you.

We got new bookshelves for our room so now I have room for my toys and books. I clean up after me, all my toys picked up. I’m a big helper. I even helped Poppy carry a kayak. It was heavy.

Grandma’s Kitchen Toys

A Day in the Life

I slept so good in the little bed at Grandma and Grandpa’s house. It helped that I was totally worn out from going outside and walking walking never stopping. I slept in one spot and didn’t even move for eight hours! Then I got in bed with Mama and slept for four more hours. Perfect. Maybe I need my own room.

It’s nice to wake up and hang out with Grandma in the morning. I play with all her toys, especially her cups and bowls and pans. She took me on a walk and got me a ladybug cookie. I used some measuring cups to spoon pieces of my cookie into my mouth. I also play with a dog and a bear and lots of books. Grandma and Grandpa both read a lot so it’s easy to find books everywhere in their house. My house is kind of like that too. I love books.

Wood Ferry Boats and a Train

A Day in the Life

We went to Goodwill and found these Awesome toys! We also found a talking telephone but Mama wouldn’t let me get it. It was obnoxious. I was a little sad but mostly hungry, and when we got my new toys all cleaned up (and I had dinner), I was so happy to find them! It’s a train with a car and a caboose, and two ferry boats with a ramp for a truck, a van, and two cars. I also got a lock box with six doors that all have different latches. I carried the pieces over one by one and I loaded up the boat and drove the cars and unhooked all the train pieces. Matt should see these! Matt is my uncle who lives at my house. I tell Mama “Matt? Matt!” and we go to get him. But he is playing a video game. I try to talk him into it. “Hi. Hi! Hi?” I try to get Mama to help but it doesn’t work. He won’t come. I go back in and the caboose has a shiney necklace in it. “Ooo.” I taste it, but it’s not especially good. One more lap to see if Matt will come play with me.

Beads

A Day in the Life

Concentrating. The holes are big enough but it is tricky to get the string through. I put the beads with the hole up and stick the string down inside, but it won’t go through the table. I have to turn it to pull the string out. I get the beads already on a string and I pull them off, putting the beads back in the box or on the table. Round ones roll away. I put them back on the table so we can see them roll again. The strings alone are interesting. I get the strings and hold them in my hand so when I walk they trail behind me. Mama should hold one side. “Pull,” I tell her. It’s easy to say. We wag the string between us and it bounces the knot in the middle. It’s hilarious! I bounce my butt too. It reminds me, I know how to climb on the table! When I start, Mama reminds me I’m not supposed to. She pushes the button on my forehead and it’s so funny I try again and again. I don’t really think she’ll let me get up, but trying everything is almost as good as getting everything!
